Ok, so it's not going to be the summer we hope for each year. Lots of traditions are going to be missing. But there are some fun programs and community resources available. Be sure to check links for social distance requirements and any scheduling changes due to the current climate. Agawam Summer Concert Series: Wednesday evenings beginning July 8, see link for schedule and performers, School Street Park, Agawam. Special KidsFest performance July 22 at 11 a.m. at Veteran's Green at 689 Main Street.

Barnes & Noble FREE Summer Reading: Read 8 books this summer, print and fill out the required reading log and redeem for one FREE book in store. Geared toward readers in grades 1-6.
Buttery Brook Park Spray Park (South Hadley): Opens for the season June 26, open daily at 10 a.m., FREE admission.

Cruise Night at the Moo (Southwick, MA): car show every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. (weather permitting), Moolicious Ice Cream, Southwick, FREE admission.
Cruisin at Mt. Carmel: Car show very Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m, Mt. Carmel, Park Avenue, Enfield, CT, FREE admission.
DAR State Forest Swim Area (Goshen): Lake is open for the season, swim at your own risk (no lifeguard on duty), no facilities, no picnic area, closes at 8 p.m.
Deerfield Outdoor Summer Concerts: see link for schedule, performances on Friday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m., BYO chair and mask, FREE.
Fairy Garden at Lenox Library (Lenox, MA): Roche Reading Park at Lenox Library has been turned into a fairy garden, visit during the day or evening to see all the magic, FREE.
Fit4Mom Longmeadow Parent/Child Fitness: see link for outdoor, socially-distanced, parent and child fitness classes in Longmeadow and Agawam, first class is free, registration required, see link for info.
Flamig Farm (West Simsbury, CT): Walkable petting zoo open 7 days, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission: $6.75/person.
Great Northampton Egg Hunt: Available daily through August 2, see link for details, find the bird egg displays in windows of businesses in Downtown Northampton to be entered to win prizes, FREE.
Green River Swimming & Recreation Area (Greenfield): Open for the season on June 20, 7 days a week, noon to 7 p.m. See link for increased guidelines and new regulations. Family season passes are $65/residents, $95/non-residents. Individual day passes are $4/adults/residents, $8/adults/non-residents, $3/youth/residents, $6/youth/non-residents. Hampden Memorial Spray Park (Hampden): Open weekdays 2:30 - 8 p.m., and weekends 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. FREE admission.
Ioka Valley Farm (Hancock, MA): Uncle Don's Barnyard open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., wiggle cars, pedal cars, farm toys, playground, sand toys, pipeline slide, farm animals, more. Admission: $10.75/person.
Look Park (Florence, MA): Park is open daily 7 a.m. to sunset, playgrounds open, splash pad is open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Daily vehicle admission fee: $10/vehicle, $5 on Mondays.
Mass Audubon: many local sites are open for hiking, all facilities are closed (plan ahead -- no bathrooms, no visitor's centers), see link for locations.

McCray's Farm Petting Zoo (South Hadley, MA): Open daily at 9 a.m., goats, miniature burros, ducks, geese, calves, chickens, rabbits, and peacocks, FREE admission. If you're looking for a human treat, there is an ice cream shop on the farm as well.
Mount Greylock Campsite Park (Lanesborough): Open for the season and reservations accepted.
Nonotuck Park (Easthampton, MA): Open for the season, Monday-Friday only, playground open, FREE admission.
Northfield Drive In (Hinsdale, NH): Open for the season, see Facebook page for regulations, located on the MA/NH border. Admission: $12/adults, $7/children (usual double feature price, may be lower or higher depending on the number of films playing).
Scantic River State Park at Powder Hollow (Enfield, CT): Hiking trail, fun rapids to play in, South Maple Street, Enfield, CT, FREE admission (if the parking lot is full, which is often is and patrolled by police, turn around and head towards the big red barn near the bridge, follow Dushthouse Road back to Powder Hollow Park. Using that parking lot adds a quarter mile to your hike but it sure beats a ticket).
Salmon Brook Park (Granby, CT): Swim area is open for the season June 20, seven days a week (see link for schedule). Daily admittance for non-residents $10/adults, $8/youth. Family season pass admission for non-resident: $120.
Santa's Land (Putney, VT): Open every Saturday & Sunday through Christmas. Admission: $13.95/person.
Saturday Nights at the Drive In (Westfield, MA): Drive-in movies planned throughout the summer, next date is August 15, space is limited, reservations required, FREE admission but donations to support the Westfield Boys & Girls Club always appreciated.
Southwick Pop Up Drive-In Movies (Southwick, MA): Drive-in movies planned throughout the summer, first one planned for Saturday, July 24 at 7 p.m., Sing will be shown, first come first served, once lot is full cars will be turned away, The WICK 338, Southwick. Suggested Donation: $20/car (supports Southwick Civic Fund).
St. Anne Shrine (Fiskdale, MA): If you are a religious family this is a beautiful place to take a shaded walk, see some beautiful sculptures, meditate, light a candle for contemplation, and have a picnic. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., FREE admission (donations always welcome).
Stanley Park (Westfield, MA): Open for passive recreation 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, duck pond, walking trails, tennis courts are open, playground still closed as of this publishing. FREE admission.
Whale Spray Center at Unity Park (Montague, MA): Open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day, there is no manual activate, the spray feature will run at random every few minutes, a portable toilet has been installed near the spray park for this season.
WGBH Family Fun at Home: New family activities added each week geared toward children ages 3-8 and featuring favorite PBS characters. Complete four activities each week and enter to win a $25 gift card to Stop & Shop or WalMart. This is a weekly giveaway through August 31 so bookmark the site and enter each week for a chance to win.
Yoga at Hilltop Farm (Suffield, CT): Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m., for teens and adults, Hilltop Farm, BYO mat or towel, block and strap, weather permitting. Admission: $10/person.
